Campaign Story

Hello,

Our names are Courtney and Amanda and we have been trying for over a year to conceive. After 4 failed IUIs, a lot of stress, and even more tears; we were informed that the next step in our journey is IVF.

Thus far we have spent about $20,000 on trying to grow our family. This is the cost of 4 IUIs and is the equivalent of 1 round of IVF treatment. Most clinics do not allow for patients to make payments on IVF treatment. Instead, they require the full amount to be paid for up front. We still need to pay our day to day bills and are trying to avoid taking out a large loan.

As hard as this is to ask, we need help. We fear that the additional stress of our financial situation will only make getting pregnant that much harder.  It was determined that unexplained infertility and not just our sexual orientation is to blame for our infertility thus far. We are now a statistic… that statistic being that 1 in 8 women struggle with infertility. It is more common now than people realize and yet it is still near impossible to find medical insurance that provides coverage (as is also the case with us).

Many friends and family shared how much they wish we had a wedding reception or a get together to celebrate our love last year. We decided to take those funds for a wedding reception and put them toward this journey. We never even accepted any gifts from those of you that offered or asked if we had a registry. Now we just ask that you think of this fundraiser as our registry. However,  the only item on it is the greatest gift of all…. our future bundle of joy!

Please share this fundraiser if donating is something that you are not able to do right now. Thank you so much for the support!
